A sharp-toothed group of plants from tropical America-Mexico in particular. The heavy rosettes of leaves are notable for their dark upper surfaces (purple near the tip) and the silvery sheen which lightens the under sides. Clusters of small white flowers are borne on 11/2-2 foot stalks. Potting Mixture 6.

Hechtia argentea {short description of image} Silver hechtia. The rigid, silvery leaves are about one foot long. This species makes the best fo liagc plant. Very striking.
