WOW! Can you believe it? There's a NEW
WORLD'S RECORD OF 1092 pounds. The giant pumpkin was weighed in at Port
Elgin ,Ontario. The new pumpkin king is Gary Burke of Simcoe, Ontario. In 1998,
there were three pumpkins that weighed over 1000 pounds. The other pumpkins
were grown by L. Stellpflug of Rush, NY - 1056 pounds; Bob & Elaine
Mackenzie of Tiverton, ON - 1, 010 pounds. Can you believe it!
Last year I did beat my all time record of 208 lbs and grew a
465 lbs pumpkin. If you need help to understand how to grow one of these
mammoths, I have listed several homepages and books to help . Now with all
my secrets in hand, I know I can grow that
1000 pound pumpkin maybe next year.
Each year, I have a freindly side bet with my Uncle for
growing a largest pumpkin. A couple years ago, I gave my Uncle
Bill a couple of AGP seeds, now he is hooked!
