PEPEROMIA
Peperomia sandersi

Flowers grown only for foliage
Potting or re-potting time March
Position in garden during summer Shade
Potting Mixture 4

Peperomia is widely grown for its fleshy, prominently veined and dotted leaves with their heavy, dark red stalks. Apetalous, unattractive flowers are occasionally produced on house specimens, but the slender spikes add nothing to the beauty of the plant. It is a fine plant for the terrarium.

This South American herb requires daily watering, a humid atmosphere, and bi-weekly doses of manure water. Increase is by stem or leaf cuttings, which root very easily.
