ROCK AND WALL PLANTS COMPARATIVELY EASY TO GROW (Some will spread too rapidly)

EXPLANATION OF SYMBOLS INDICATING SOIL AND SITUATION REQUIREMENTS

A - Plants which do well in garden loam, and need no special soil mixture. They are not particular as to chemical content of soil, and need only ordinary care.

B - Shade-loving plants, preferring a soil rich in humus, porous and well drained. Leafmold mixed with loam makes the best soil for this group.

C - Plants which thrive in really wet, marshy soil, with sphagnum moss mixed with loam.

D - Plants that will do well in the crevices of the wall.

E - Rock plants which require the mixture of sand, loam and humus. They need perfect drainage, full sunshine, and require very little care. In dry climates, sphagnum with the soil is advisable.
